BD103 Continues to Provide More Efficiency and Life Than the LF3000 With Stratapore™ Media


The results speak for themselves. Extensive life and efficiency tests and billions of miles of actual use prove the BD103 outperforms the LF3000. The patented “series” design and the cellulose/synthetic blend media are central to the filter’s increased contaminant holding capacity and longer element life. In the BD103, all oil passes through the full-flow element instead of just part of it as with “parallel” designs.

The full-flow/by-pass technology of the BD103 offers up to 43 percent more full-flow surface for greater contaminant holding capacity. Higher efficiency means less damage-causing contaminants pass through the filter to sensitive components, leading to longer and more efficient system life. Increased capacity extends filter life without decreasing filter efficiency.

Baldwin High Velocity® Dual-Flow Filters For Cummins Engines


Baldwin Filters’ High Velocity Dual- Flow line includes three patent pending dual-flow lube filters to be used on Cummins ISM, ISX and Series 600 engines as replacements for the Fleetguard Venturi™ filter line. There are differences between standard dual-flow lube spin-on filters and the High Velocity Dual-Flow
designs.

High Velocity Dual-Flow spin-ons have one inlet and one outlet. Oil flowing through the filter is sent directly to the engine to protect vital engine components, rather than a portion being returned to the sump as with conventional dual-flow filters. The High Velocity Dual-Flow spin-on design is also superior to standard fullflow/
by-pass designs in that a larger portion of the flow travels through the high efficiency element, removing more small contaminants. In traditional full-flow/by-pass designs, only a small percentage of flow, 10% or less, travels through the high efficiency element.

This style of filter will be used on more Cummins applications in the future.

Bendix® PBS® Engine Air Injection


This video compares the performance of a commercial vehicle on an incline with a weighted trailer equipped with the Bendix® PBS® engine air injection system versus a non-PBS-equipped commercial vehicle. The Bendix PBS engine air injection system is the first air management system of its kind to simultaneously improve fuel economy and vehicle acceleration, while reducing engine emissions. The system is placed between the turbocharger compressor and the engine air intake where it monitors the Controller Area Network (CAN) for specific signals. Once the conditions for activation are met, the system injects compressed air from an air reservoir into the engine manifold, delivering the desired amount of air that the diesel combustion processes require. When a driver presses the accelerator pedal in a vehicle without PBS air injection, there is a delay in vehicle acceleration response often referred to as turbo-lag. The Bendix PBS system overcomes turbo-lag by injecting air into the engine air intake until the tubo-charger can supply the air required to meet the driver demand for vehicle acceleration.
